THESIS PROGRESS

I am currently struggling to prepare the first draft of the thesis. It is expected to be completed at the end of February 2010. InsyaAllah on the first of March 2010 or not later than end of March 2010, the draft can be submitted to the beloved thesis supervisors, Professor Dr. Muhammad Syukri Salleh (main supervisor) and Dr. Zakaria Bahari (co-supervisor).

Overall, there are 7 chapters in my thesis as follows:

Chapter 1: INTRODUCTION
Chapter 2: PAST RESEARCH AND LITERATURE REVIEW
Chapter 3: RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Chapter 4: EXPERTS’ ANALYSIS OF THE DETERMINANTS OF BANK SELECTION ACCORDING TO SHARIAH
Chapter 5: REALITY OF ISLAMIC BANKING INSTITUTIONS SELECTION AMONGST MUSLIMS IN TERENGGANU
Chapter 6: ANALYSIS OF SHARIAH COMPLIANCE AMONGST MUSLIMS IN TERENGGANU
Chapter 7: CONCLUSION

Until today (2 December 2009), I am currently working on chapter 4. This chapter fairly easy to complete (insyaAllah) for the following reason. This chapter is divided into two discussion themes, namely intrinsic and extrinsic determinants. Both perspectives were discussed by the group of experts. I had presented the first theme at IECONS09, USIM in July 2009, followed by the second theme which had been presented at INGRAW09, USM in August 2009. This paper (second theme) was subsequently accepted for publication in the Journal of Muamalat and Islamic Finance Research (JMIFR) issued by USIM. Do pray for me that I can complete this chapter before 12 December 2009.
